Thirty moves to light up the grid
Ruby Grid is a match-3 that ends after exactly 30 moves, so every score on the board was earned the same way. Pick a name, play a run, see where you land.

How it works
Swap, match, chain
There is no tutorial level. The whole game fits in three steps.
-
Find a line
Look for two gems of one type with a third that can slide in next to them. Rows and columns count. Diagonals do not.
-
Swap or drag
Tap one gem, then a neighbor, or drag a gem one cell. A swap that makes no line snaps back and costs nothing.
-
Chain it
Cleared gems drop, new ones fall in, and any fresh lines clear on their own. Each link in the chain raises the multiplier: ×1.5, then ×2, then ×3.
Scoring
What a move is worth
Longer lines pay more, and chains multiply everything in the round.
| Line | Points | Leaves behind |
|---|---|---|
| 3 gems | 100 | Nothing |
| 4 gems | 250 | A Nova |
| 5 or more | 500 | A Beam |
| Chain link | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| First link | ×1.5 |
| Second link | ×2 |
| Third and later | ×3 |
Special gems
- Nova. Left behind by a line of 4. When it sits in a line, it clears the 3×3 block around it.
- Beam. Left behind by a line of 5 or more. Clears its whole row and its whole column.
- Grid wipe. Swap two special gems together and the entire grid clears for a flat 1,000 points.
Specials keep the color of the gem they came from, so they still count toward lines. A blast that reaches another special sets it off too.
The gems
Six gems, six outlines
Every gem has its own shape as well as its own color, so you can play without leaning on color alone.

Ranks
Five ranks, set by your best run
Your rank comes from your highest single-run score, not from the total of everything you have played. A new rank shows up on the run-complete screen.
For scale: picking a random legal move on every turn scored between 3,900 and 7,950 across 12 test runs. Getting past that takes planning.

About
A small game with a fixed length
Ruby Grid is one board and one rule about time: you get 30 moves. That is the design. When every run is the same length, a score of 12,000 means the same thing to everyone who sees it.
There are no energy timers, no ads, no shop and no account to create. You type a name, you play, and the score goes on the board. The privacy policy lists what the server keeps, and it is a short list.
The game runs in your browser on a canvas, so it needs JavaScript and a screen at least as wide as a small phone.
Names are not passwords
Nobody checks who you are. Someone else can type your name and sign in as you, so pick a name you can live with losing.
Scores are checked, not guaranteed
The server rejects runs that are too fast or too high to be real. That stops casual cheating. It does not stop a determined person.
Touch and keyboard
Tap, drag, or use the arrow keys and Enter. If you hesitate for seven seconds, a hint outlines a legal move.
